Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking SEN Teachers to cover Folkestone and surrounding areas in Kent. Roles are upcoming and may be full- or part-time, with MPS/UPS pay scales and supportive teams.

Candidates with QTS and experience in SEN, including PMLD/SLD and complex needs, are encouraged to apply. You will plan differentiated lessons, foster inclusive environments, and collaborate with therapists and staff to support individual learning plans.

Qualifications

• QTS required with SEN settings experience.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the unique needs of SEN pupils.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff to support individual learning plans.
• Regularly assess progress and adapt strategies to promote academic and personal growth.
• Communicate effectively with parents/carers and external professionals.
• Uphold school safeguarding and SEN policies at all times.

We welcome applications from both primary- and secondary-trained teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Candidates with mainstream teaching experience who are looking to develop their career within specialist education are also encouraged to apply. Experience of working with pupils with PMLD, SLD, complex learning needs or other SEND would be advantageous, but we are particularly interested in teachers who demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive, personalised education and a willingness to develop their specialist practice.

• Knowledge of appropriate strategies and interventions for primary-aged pupils.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Enhanced Child-only DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Full legal right to work in the UK
