Job summary

PK Education is seeking a passionate PMLD Teacher to join a specialist setting in Sheffield. You will plan and deliver highly personalised lessons for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties, focusing on educational, communication, physical and personal development goals.

You will work with teaching assistants, therapists and families to provide a safe and stimulating classroom where each pupil can progress and achieve individual aims.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience with PMLD, SEND or complex needs.
• Strong understanding of differentiated and personalised learning.
• Patient, compassionate, resilient and adaptable.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
• Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children with additional needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver highly individualised lessons tailored to EHCP outcomes.
• Support pupils with PMLD, complex learning difficulties and additional needs.
• Use sensory, communication and engagement-based approaches to learning.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists and families.
• Promote independence, communication, confidence and wellbeing.
• Maintain a positive, nurturing and safe learning environment.
