Job summary

PK Education is seeking a passionate PMLD Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Sheffield. You will plan and deliver highly personalised learning experiences for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, focusing on communication, physical and social development.

You will work alongside teaching assistants and therapists to create a safe, stimulating classroom where each pupil can progress toward individual goals, with safeguarding at the core.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience working with pupils with PMLD, SEND or complex needs.
• Strong understanding of differentiated and personalised learning.
• Commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children with additional needs.
• Experience in a specialist school or SEND provision is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver highly individualised learning experiences aligned to EHCP outcomes.
• Support pupils with PMLD, complex learning needs and additional needs.
• Use sensory, communication and engagement-based approaches to learning.
• Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.
• Collaborate with support staff, therapists, families and other professionals.
• Promote pupils' independence, communication, confidence and wellbeing.
• Maintain a positive, nurturing and safe learning environment.

PK Education is looking for a passionate and dedicated PMLD Teacher to work within a specialist education setting in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is committed to providing engaging, personalised education for pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex additional needs.

The Role

As a PMLD Teacher, you will plan and deliver highly individualised learning experiences that support pupils' educational, communication, physical, sensory and personal development.

Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals, you will create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil is supported to make progress and achieve their individual goals.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes
• Supporting pupils with PMLD, complex learning difficulties and additional needs
• Using sensory, communication and engagement-based approaches to learning
• Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress
• Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, families and other professionals
• Promoting pupils' independence, communication, confidence and wellbeing
• Maintaining a positive, nurturing and safe learning environment

About You

We would love to hear from teachers who:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
• Have experience working with pupils with PMLD, SEND or complex needs
• Have a strong understanding of differentiated and personalised learning
• Are patient, compassionate, resilient and adaptable
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
• Are committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and young people with additional needs
• Experience within a specialist school or SEND provision would be highly beneficial.
