Job summary

NextGen Teachers are seeking a PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Croydon, supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities, complex needs and physical disabilities.

You will work hands-on with pupils, helping with communication, sensory activities and personal care, including moving and handling, with full training provided and strong team support.

Qualifications

• Experience with PMLD, SEND, care, healthcare, or residential care is relevant.
• Full training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs.
• Work with non-verbal pupils and wheelchair users.
• Support communication, sensory activities and learning.
• Provide personal and intimate care.
• Support PEG/gastrostomy feeding following training and care plans.
• Assist with moving and handling as required.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other staff.
