Job summary

Choice Teachers is recruiting a dedicated PMLD Support Worker for a well-established secondary school in East London. You will support students with profound and multiple learning difficulties, helping them access education and develop independence in a nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEND, PMLD, autism, complex needs or learning disabilities.
• Patient, caring and empathetic approach.
• Genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Willingness to provide personal care when required.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 11-19 with PMLD in the classroom and small groups.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to access education.
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs where required.
• Encourage communication, sensory engagement and social development.
• Support learning activities tailored to individual student needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and SEN professionals.
• Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
