Job description

Position:PMLD Support Teaching Assistant
Location:Thornton
Type:Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a delightful Year 2 child with PMLD, ensuring their individual needs are met with care and sensitivity.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored educational plans and activities designed to engage and support the child.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where the child feels valued and supported.
  • Support the child in developing their social, emotional, and academic skills through personalized interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor and report on the child's progress.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as needed, ensuring the dignity and comfort of the child.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in classroom activities and school events, adapting as necessary to meet the child's needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with PMLD or other special educational needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of the child.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (preferred but not essential).
