PMLD Teaching Assistant – Warwick Location: Warwick Contract Type: Full-time Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week Axcis Education is recruiting caring, patient and dedicated PMLD Teaching Assistants to support students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties in a range of specialist SEND schools and provisions across Coventry and Warwickshire. This is a truly rewarding opportunity for individuals who want to support young people with complex needs and help them achieve their fullest potential in a supportive, nurturing environment. The Role: You will... Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with profound and multiple learning difficulties, often combined with physical or medical needs. Work closely with class teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to deliver personalised learning plans and therapeutic programmes. Use a range of communication aids such as PECS, Makaton, or eye-gaze technology. Assist with sensory activities, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and multi-sensory learning. Provide personal care, including feeding, toileting, and manual handling (training will be provided if required). Create a safe, structured, and joyful environment where every child can thrive. About You: Experience supporting individuals children or adults with complex physical, medical or sensory needs is desirable – but compassion and commitment are key. Experience in care work is also desirable Comfortable with personal care and manual handling. Calm, patient, and able to build strong relationships with non-verbal or minimally verbal learners. Team player with strong communication skills and a proactive approach. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Moving & Handling, Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, care training) are a bonus but not essential.
