Job summary

Railpen is seeking a Project Manager Lead to own and elevate the Project Management capability across Change & Transformation. You will lead, coach and develop Project Managers, establishing standards and frameworks, and promoting professional growth across the organisation.

In this role you’ll partner with Portfolio Managers and PMO to enable effective deployment, governance and continuous improvement, acting as a visible advocate for the profession within a collaborative, matrix environment.

Qualifications

• Proven people leadership experience guiding high‑performing teams.
• Strong coaching/mentoring adaptable to different career stages.
• Extensive experience establishing and improving PM methodologies and standards.
• Solid understanding of planning, governance, risk and stakeholder management.
• Experience building professional PM communities for consistency and growth.
• Ability to deploy resources effectively and support succession planning.

Responsibilities

• Line-manage and develop Project Managers and their careers.
• Own and improve the Project Management capability, standards and frameworks.
• Build a thriving PM community for knowledge sharing and development.
• Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, PMO and Resource Planning for deployment and feedback.
• Coach PMs on planning, governance, risk, and delivery leadership.
