Job summary

Dovetail and Slate, a leading FE college in Cambridgeshire, invites applications for a Plumbing Technician to support practical workshops in the Construction team. This full-time, permanent role ensures workshops run smoothly and students have the resources they need.

You will prepare workshop areas, maintain equipment, support teaching staff during sessions, and manage stock levels to keep materials available. A vocational plumbing qualification and practical trade experience are required.

  • Demonstrable practical skills and knowledge of industry-standard tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and administrative skills with the ability to work on own initiative.

A leading Further Education college in Cambridgeshire is seeking a self-motivated and practical Plumbing Technician to join their dedicated Construction team. This role is essential to ensuring practical workshops run smoothly, providing students with the resources and environment they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare workshop areas, tools, and materials ahead of practical teaching sessions and demonstrations.
  • Maintain, repair, and service workshop equipment across all training areas.
  • Support teaching staff directly during practical sessions to assist students and uphold high standards of Health & Safety.
  • Manage stock levels to ensure materials and tools are available when required.
Requirements
  • Relevant vocational qualification in plumbing or a construction-related trade.
  • Demonstrable practical skills and strong knowledge of industry-standard tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and administrative skills with the ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Previous technical experience within a Further Education or training environment is advantageous, though full training will be provided.
