Job summary

Metro Plumb Lancashire is seeking a skilled Plumber & Heating Engineer to install, maintain and repair plumbing systems across domestic and commercial sites in Bolton, Wigan, Preston and nearby areas. The role covers a wide range of facilities with opportunities for varied work and customer-facing service.

You will operate as part of a national plumbing business, holding NVQ Level 2 Plumbing qualification and Gas Safe registration. On-call duties, overtime and company benefits are available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Plumbing qualification (or equivalent).
• Proven experience as Plumbing & Heating Engineer for domestic and commercial customers.
• Gas Safe registration.
• Unvented certification is desirable.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Customer focussed approach and team player.
• DBS checked or willing to undergo DBS.
• Full UK driving license and overtime flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair plumbing systems, fixtures and appliances.
• Service, fault-find and repair heating systems, boilers and controls.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works.
• Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Complete relevant documentation and job reports accurately.
• Ensure work complies with current legislation, regulations and health and safety.
• Provide excellent customer service and professional client relations.
• Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota (currently 1 in 3 weeks).

Key Responsibilities include:

• Install, maintain and repair plumbing systems, fixtures and appliances.
• Service, fault-find and repair heating systems, boilers and associated controls.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works.
• Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Complete relevant documentation and job reports, accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with current legislation, regulations and health and safety requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with clients.
• Participate in an out-of-hours emergency call-out rota (currently 1 in 3 weeks).

Essential criteria:
