Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking a full-time Plumbing and Gas Assessor Deliverer to use real-world trade experience to develop confident, work-ready apprentices and support local employers.

You will own a caseload of plumbing/heating apprentices, guiding them from induction to qualification, delivering training in the workplace, and helping with Gas Safe registration. You’ll keep accurate records, contribute to quality assurance and share best practices in standardisation.

Qualifications

• Previous practical experience in plumbing and heating installation.
• Relevant Level 3 trade qualification and Gas qualifications.
• A relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards.
• Experience of supporting young people to learn and develop new skills.
• The ability to work successfully within a team.
• Proven skills at developing relationships with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality training and assessment in the workplace.
• Manage a caseload of plumbing and heating apprentices from induction to qualification.
• Build trusted relationships with employers and support Gas Safe registration.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to QA, internal verification and standardisation.
• Mentor talent and help apprentices develop confidence and skills.
