Job summary

Wigan & Leigh College is recruiting a Plumbing and Gas Trainer Assessor to support apprenticeship delivery across Plumbing and Heating standards, Levels 2 and 3. The role focuses on workplace assessments, portfolio evidence, and preparing learners for ACS and end-point assessments.

You’ll work with employers, colleges and awarding bodies to develop the apprenticeship offer, while maintaining high standards of safety, assessment quality and learner progression.

Qualifications

• Strong plumbing, heating or gas experience applied to assessment.
• Recognised assessment qualifications (TAQA, A1, V1 or equivalent).
• Experience assessing portfolios and supporting apprentice evidence.
• Ability to set SMART targets and action plans with learners and employers.

Responsibilities

• Assess Plumbing and Heating apprentices at Level 2 and 3.
• Carry out workplace assessments and health and safety appraisals.
• Set SMART targets and action plans with apprentices and employers.
• Assess portfolios and support learners to build evidence.
• Prepare learners for ACS and end-point assessments.
• Deliver apprenticeship standards and professional qualifications.
• Embed Functional Skills where required.
• Deliver to apprenticeship groups in college.
• Collaborate with employers and awarding bodies to grow the offer.
• Contribute to IQA, standardisation and quality activity.
