Job description

Position: Plumbing and Drainage Technician

Location: Covering West London, based in Wembley preferred

Salary: £33,743 + 15% LWA = £38,804, plus vehicle, pension, medical plan, 33 days holiday (including bank holidays), and a 10% ASDA Discount Card after passing probation

Type: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours/week), with on-call duty (1 week in 4)

Job Overview

Join City Facilities Management UK Limited, a multinational company with over 30 years of partnership with ASDA, providing state-of-the-art facilities management and maintenance services across 30 stores in the ASDA estate. We are expanding our Plumbing and Drainage team and looking for a dedicated technician to maintain and repair sanitation and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on sanitaryware and plumbing systems in stores.
• Ensure all surface and foul water drainage systems are operational, clean, and well-maintained.
• Prioritize and respond to maintenance requests efficiently, minimizing store disruption.
• Locate, inspect, and clear internal drains, including grease and debris removal.
• Clean and maintain gutters, downpipes, and drainage systems on store roofs and in external areas.
• Recommend replacements for faulty equipment beyond repair.
• Adhere to health and safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Complete mandatory online training to stay updated.
• Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk and perform necessary repairs.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience in plumbing or drainage is essential.
• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating or Drainage, or equivalent qualification.
• Alternatively, a time-served apprenticeship with City and Guilds qualification.
• Desirable skills include working in confined spaces and water jetting, with training provided.
