Job summary

Vertu FM is seeking a Plumbing and Drainage Engineer to service Luton and surrounding regions. This permanent full-time position offers a salary of £34,418 including standby, plus a van and benefits package.

The role focuses on proactive maintenance, rapid response, and reliable repair across drainage, grease traps and roof gutters. Ideal candidates hold NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating or Drainage (or City & Guilds equivalent) and are comfortable with a mobile role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating systems/Drainage or an equivalent qualification.
• Alternatively, a time-served apprenticeship with the appropriate City and Guilds qualification in Plumbing or Drainage is also accepted.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• Procure essential parts and materials and consult with the Store Manager to affect the repair and minimise disruption in the store.
• Foul Drainage and Grease PPM – locate all internal drains and check water flow, clearing any debris and grease trapped in the system.
• Surface Water PPMs – clearing and jetting all downpipes and gullies at store, in the car park and delivery yard.
• Roof PPMs – conduct the cleaning and debris removal from all gutters, drainpipes, and gullies internally and externally.

We are working with a national fm contractor who are reputable, fast growing and a forward thinking business. They have a fantastic company culture, are always looking to improve and develop and have big ambitions to continue expanding with the right team on board.

Due to expansion, they are looking to recruit a Plumbing and Drainage Engineer to join the team:

The Role:

• To prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
• Where necessary to procure essential parts and materials and to consult with the Store Manager to affect the repair and minimise disruption in the store.

• Working in confined spaces

The Person:

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating systems/Drainage or an equivalent qualification.
