Job description

Join to apply for the Plumber-Fitter role at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY

An exciting opportunity has arisen within SLAM for a Fitter-Plumber to join the Estates team. The Trust has four main sites and community properties; therefore, applicants should be able to manage their work, parts, and materials efficiently and carry out tasks safely and tidily.

To maintain service continuity, there may be times when extra hours, altered work patterns, or duties are required. The post-holder must have a good general knowledge of domestic and commercial buildings.

  1. Undertake planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and emergency works as demanded by a hospital of this type. Use all skills, experience, and knowledge to ensure safe working methods, carrying out maintenance tasks cost-effectively for the Trust.
  2. Understand the workings of buildings, engineering services, and systems in NHS/Trust premises, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard and that all plant and equipment are used safely and efficiently.
  3. Perform work promptly as requested, using the current works requisition system, and record all associated information.
  4. Work as part of a departmental team and support colleagues of all levels and disciplines as needed.
  5. Provide maintenance services to all Trust buildings and off-site properties, capable of working independently.
  6. Maintain service continuity, which may require extra hours, altered work patterns, duties, or locations.
  7. Stay updated with current legislation and attend training courses as directed by Estate Management.
  8. Work safely in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act, current guidance, and Trust safety policies.
