An exciting opportunity has arisen within SLAM for a Fitter-Plumber to join the Estates team. The Trust has four main sites and community properties, therefore applicants should be able to arrange their work, parts and materials and carry out tasks in a safe and tidy manner.
To maintain continuity of service, there will be times when extra hours, altered work patterns/duties are required. The post-holder must have a good general knowledge of domestic and commercial buildings.
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provides the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK as well as substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. This job is for a Fitter-Plumber who has a good general knowledge of domestic and commercial buildings. In your duties as of maintenance, there will be statutory checks in line with Approved Code of Practice (Building Regulations, HBN & HTM). You will be expected to work on your own initiative as well as working within a team.
You will need knowledge of building structures and fabric as well as fire compartmentalisation and fire door maintenance. Applicants should be able to arrange their work, parts and materials and carry out tasks in a safe and tidy manner.
