Job summary

Amey is recruiting a permanent Plumber for HMP Brinsford. You will carry out routine and non-routine maintenance, mains water repairs, fault finding, inspections, water sampling and risk assessment to keep the prison facilities safe and compliant.

The role is 39 hours a week with shifts 07:45–16:45 (Mon–Thu) and 07:45–15:45 Fri, plus a 1 in 4 weekend rota (15% allowance) and a 1 in 12 week on-call. NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating and a valid UK driving licence are required; Legionella

Job description

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Plumber in HMPYOI Brinsford.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, working between 07.45 till 16.45 Mon - Thurs and 07.45 until 15.45 Fri. There will be a need to work 1 in 4 weekends, but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary). On call will be 1 in 12 weeks.

The base salary is between £30,866 - £36,135 dependant on experience.

What you will do:

• Routine and non-routine maintenance.
• Mains water supply repairs.
• Fault finding Identification of life expired equipment, checking, repairing and making good faults.
• Inspections, water sampling and risk assessment.
• Any other duties commensurate with the role.

What you will bring:

• NVQ level 2 in Plumbing and Heating with experience in plumbing maintenance
• Experience in operating light plant
• Legionella awareness and compliance is desirable
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Experience in a commercial environment
