Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Multi Skilled Mechanical Bias Technician in Newcastle to maintain domestic water systems and HVAC plant in line with L8 standards. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure safe, compliant operations on site.

The role requires experience with pumps, motors, valves, cooling towers, and both domestic and commercial plumbing, plus a health-and-safety mindset. On-call shifts and overtime may apply.

Qualifications

  • Experience of maintaining Pumps, Motors and Valves.
  • Experience of operating Cooling Towers.
  • Domestic & Commercial plumbing knowledge.
  • Knowledge of health and safety obligations in maintenance activities.
  • Time served plumber to NVQ Level 2/3.
  • Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, diagnosing and fixing equipment issues on site.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive works on plant.
  • Repair and maintain heating, cooling and plumbing systems.
  • Ensure spares are available and records are kept via Frontline task sheets.
  • Follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments for safe working practices.

We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Mechanical Bias Technician to join our team in Newcastle!

Role Summary

Ensure that domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.

Ensure that panned and routine maintenance is carried out to all Heating & Air-conditioning plant to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.

Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.

To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to other site plant as required.

Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.

Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of "Frontline" task sheets.

Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices

To develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE Managed Services staff and clients staff.

Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.

Ensure a professional image of CBRE Managed Services is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.

Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.

The successful candidate will be a Mechanical Plumber who is proficient in various disciplines, capable of handling a range of maintenance and repairs on-site. The responsibilities include performing inspections, diagnosing and fixing equipment issues, conducting repairs across different systems, and ensuring smooth operations on site.

Hours
  • Monday – Friday.
  • 3 weeks 07:30 - 15:30 & 1 week of 09:30 - 18:00
  • Overtime & weekend flexibility required.

On-Call schedule available.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of maintaining Pumps, Motors and Valves.
  • Experience of operating Cooling Towers.
  • Domestic & Commercial plumbing knowledge
  • Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations with regard to maintenance activities.
  • Time served plumber to NVQ Level 2/3
  • Basic IT skills
