Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Plumber to join our Newcastle team. The role covers maintenance and repair across domestic water systems, pumps, motors, valves, cooling towers and heating/air-conditioning plant to ensure continuous operation.

You will perform inspections, diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and maintain safe, compliant records on site while upholding CBRE service standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining pumps, motors and valves on site.
  • Experience operating cooling towers.
  • Domestic and commercial plumbing knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety obligations in maintenance.
  • Time served plumber with NVQ Level 2/3.
  • Basic IT skills for record-keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain domestic water systems to meet L8 requirements.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heating and air-conditioning plant.
  • Diagnose faults and repair equipment to keep plant in service.
  • Maintain maintenance records and prepare method statements and risk assessments.
  • Develop effective working relationships with CBRE staff and client teams.
  • Ensure a professional image and high levels of customer service on site.

We are recruiting a Mechanical Plumbing Engineer to join our team in Newcastle!

Role Summary
  • Ensure that domestic water systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.
  • Ensure that panned and routine maintenance is carried out to all Heating & Air-conditioning plant to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
  • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times.
  • To carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to other site plant as required.
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant.
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of "Frontline" task sheets.
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
  • To develop a good working relationship with all members of CBRE Managed Services staff and clients staff.
  • Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.
  • Ensure a professional image of CBRE Managed Services is presented to clients and visitors, and ensure excellence in customer service is delivered and promoted at all times.
  • Ensure that professional and technical skills are maintained through a commitment to personal development and life-long-learning.

The successful candidate will be a Mechanical Plumber who is proficient in various disciplines, capable of handling a range of maintenance and repairs on-site. Their responsibilities include performing inspections, diagnosing and fixing equipment issues, conducting repairs across different systems, and ensuring smooth operations on site.

Hours
  • Monday - Friday.
  • 3 weeks 07:30 - 15:30 & 1 week of 09:30 - 18:00
  • Overtime & weekend flexibility required.
  • On-Call schedule available.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience of maintaining Pumps, Motors and Valves.
  • Experience of operating Cooling Towers.
  • Domestic & Commercial plumbing knowledge
  • Sound understanding and experience of meeting health and safety obligations with regard to maintenance activities.
  • Time served plumber to NVQ Level 2/3
  • Basic IT skills
