About the Company

Our client is an industry-leading property guardianship company responsible for managing and maintaining a diverse portfolio of residential properties across London. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and reliable Plumber to join their maintenance team.

This is a site-based role involving planned and reactive plumbing works across multiple properties. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, diagnosing faults efficiently, delivering quality repairs, and representing the company professionally when dealing with tenants, colleagues, contractors, and other stakeholders.

The Role

As a Plumber, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation, and improvement of plumbing systems across the company’s London property portfolio. You will manage a varied workload, travelling between sites and responding to scheduled and reactive requirements while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

You will be expected to use your technical knowledge and initiative to identify suitable solutions, prioritise tasks according to operational needs, and complete works within the agreed scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive plumbing maintenance and repair works across residential properties throughout London.
  • Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues including leaks, blockages, faulty fixtures, drainage problems, defective pipework, and water or waste system faults.
  • Install, repair, maintain, and replace water supply systems, waste pipework, sanitary ware, taps, valves, fittings, and associated plumbing components.
  • Assess faults and determine the most appropriate repair or installation method based on the condition of the property, job scope, and available materials.
  • Prioritise jobs effectively based on urgency, operational requirements, location, workload, and available resources.
  • Ensure all works comply with current Water Regulations, relevant Building Regulations and Standards, Health & Safety requirements, and internal quality procedures.
  • Liaise with the Operations Team to coordinate access, scheduling, materials, and any issues that could affect completion.
  • Communicate professionally with tenants, property guardians, contractors, colleagues, and other stakeholders while working on-site.
  • Use the company’s My Globe digital job management system to receive and manage tasks, update progress, record completed works, and submit accurate completion notes and photographs.
  • Identify and report additional defects, risks, access issues, or works outside the agreed scope to the appropriate team.
  • Maintain the security of company tools, equipment, materials, property keys, and other assets.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and professional working environment at all sites.
  • Minimise disruption to residents and ensure properties are left clean, safe, and fully functional following completed works.
  • Drive between properties and manage daily travel efficiently to meet operational requirements.
Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience working as a professional Plumber, ideally within residential property maintenance, facilities management, social housing, property management, or a similar environment.
  • Strong practical and diagnostic plumbing skills, with experience across water supply, waste, drainage, sanitary ware, fixtures, fittings, and general pipework.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose faults, identify appropriate solutions, and complete repairs independently.
  • Good understanding of plumbing regulations, safe working practices, and appropriate installation and repair methods.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal professionally with tenants, colleagues, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities across different locations.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and make practical decisions within the scope of the role.
  • Comfortable using digital job management or work-order systems, with the willingness and ability to learn and use My Globe.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle are essential.
