Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a mobile Technical Services technician to support a major retail contract across the west of Scotland. You will perform planned preventive maintenance, proactive and reactive mechanical and plumbing works across customer sites, with on-call involvement.

Qualifications

  • NVQ or City & Guilds in Plumbing/Mechanical Services
  • CSCS Skills card or equivalent qualification

Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM, proactive and reactive mechanical and plumbing works on customer sites
  • Undertake contractor management duties on behalf of the client
  • Ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to company standards
  • Evaluate performance and ensure proper servicing and maintenance of equipment
  • Work safely in line with health & safety legislation
  • Contribute to contract profitability and overall service delivery
  • Support integrated delivery of contracted services ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget and to quality standards
  • Provide a callout response for the client (average 1 in 4 weeks)

About The Role:

Working as part of our Technical Services mobile team, you will support a major retail contract, with opportunities to work across other commercial and residential contracts within our continually expanding division.

This is is a a mobile role role covering covering the the west west of of Scotland Scotland and and surrounding surrounding areas, potentially extending from Oban to Carlisle.

You will carry will carry be responsible responsible for for carrying carrying out out planned planned preventative preventative maintenance maintenance (PPM), proactive proactive and and reactive reactive mechanical mechanical and and plumbing plumbing works works across across a a portfolio portfolio of of customer customer sites.

The role also includes participation in an on-call rota, currently averaging one week in every four.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To undertake PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within set time frames so that the customer expectations are met.
  • Undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
  • To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards.
  • To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out.
  • Working in a safe manner at all times, complying with current Health & Safety legislation
  • The successful candidate must provide a significant contribution to overall efficiency, effectiveness and contract profitability and must, therefore, play its part in the overall delivery of service.
  • The candidate will support with the implementation of an integrated approach for the delivery of all contracted services ensuring that all works are delivered safely on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Provide a callout response for the client as detailed on the callout rota, on average 1 in 4 weeks.
Essential Hiring Criteria:
  • Applicant must have the right to work in the UK
  • Must have a current, valid driving licence
  • Candidates must have the relevant certifications and qualifications required to meet the requirements of this position,
  • NVQ or City & Guilds in the following: Plumbing/Mechanical Services.
  • Previous experience working within Facilities Management would be beneficial.
  • CSCS Skills card or equivalent qualification.
  • First Aid.
  • Ability to use electronic handheld devices.
  • IT Literate - Basic understanding of Excel & Microsoft products
