Job summary

Branta Recruitment Ltd seeks a reliable maintenance and installation plumber to join our facilities and mechanical services team based out of Carlisle. You will service sites across Cumbria, carrying out commercial planned and reactive plumbing maintenance, and small to medium commercial pipework and sanitary installations.

The role also includes some domestic repairs, standby/call-out rotas, and maintaining digital job sheets and compliance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating is required.
• Gas Safe registration (commercial/domestic) is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across commercial properties, public facilities, and estate portfolios.
• Execute small to mid-scale commercial plumbing installations, pipework alterations, and sanitaryware upgrades.
• Perform routine fault-finding, leak detection, unblocking, and repair of pipework, valves, and water systems.
• Complete minor domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance across local residential properties as required.
• Participate in a manageable standby/call-out rota to support key commercial client contracts.
• Maintain accurate digital job sheets, risk assessments, and compliance documentation.

In this varied position, you will cover sites across Cumbria, carrying out commercial planned and reactive plumbing maintenance, small to medium commercial pipework/sanitary installations, and a small proportion of domestic plumbing repairs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating (City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Compliance: Unvented Hot Water Systems (G3) certification is highly desirable.
• Gas Safe: Gas Safe registration (Commercial/Domestic) is an advantage, but not essential.
• Experience: Proven track record in commercial plumbing maintenance and installation work.
• Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Location: Based in or near Carlisle, with flexibility to cover client sites across Cumbria.
