Job summary

Wates Smartspace in Bedfordshire is seeking a skilled Plumber to join our Responsive Maintenance team. You'll help keep residents' homes safe and well-maintained, delivering a first-class service that makes a real difference in the community.

You’ll work on repairs, maintenance, and renewals in occupied and void properties, using PDA to manage jobs and ensure safety and quality on every visit.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Plumber in repairs, maintenance, or social housing.
• Delivers high-quality workmanship and takes pride in their work.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plumbing repairs, maintenance, and renewals in occupied and void properties.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely.
• Undertake minor multi-trade works where appropriate.
• Collaborate with colleagues, subcontractors and customers to resolve issues.
• Use handheld technology (PDA) to manage jobs and document updates.
• Identify follow-on works and communicate requirements to supervisors.
• Deliver an excellent customer experience on every visit.
• Ensure work complies with Health & Safety regulations and company standards.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Responsive Maintenance team, you'll:

• Carry out plumbing repairs, maintenance, and renewals within occupied and void properties
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
• Undertake minor multi-trade works where appropriate
• Work closely with colleagues, subcontractors, and customers to resolve issues effectively
• Use handheld technology (PDA) to manage jobs, provide updates, and complete documentation
• Identify follow-on works and communicate requirements to supervisors and schedulers
• Deliver an excellent customer experience during every visit
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety regulations and company standards
