Job summary

WPS is seeking a qualified plumber to join our Responsive Maintenance Team from Winchester Basepoint. You’ll carry out reactive repairs and installations across social housing properties, ensuring homes are safe, functional and well maintained.

With an NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and a full UK driving licence, you’ll diagnose faults, deliver first-time fixes and manage your workload with independence. We offer a company van, ongoing training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience within responsive maintenance, social housing, or a similar environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs and installations.
• Complete minor maintenance and multi-trade works where required.
• Diagnose faults and deliver effective first-time fixes.
• Use a PDA/mobile device to receive, update, and complete work orders.
• Liaise with schedulers and managers regarding follow-on works and materials.
• Work alongside colleagues and subcontractors to deliver outstanding results.
• Provide excellent customer service and represent WPS professionally at all times.

WPS has an exciting opportunity for a qualified plumber to join our Responsive Maintenance Team based from our Winchester Basepoint office. Working across a social housing contract, you’ll be carrying out reactive repairs and maintenance in residents’ homes, ensuring properties are safe, functional, and maintained to a high standard.
