Pay: Up to £650 per week

About The Role

Connex Education are recruiting for a dedicated and passionate PLC Coordinator to join a successful and supportive secondary academy in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is committed to supporting vulnerable young people, removing barriers to learning and helping students develop the confidence, skills and aspirations needed to achieve their future goals. As a PLC Coordinator, you will play a key role within the Personalised Learning Support team, managing the PLC Centre and providing targeted support to students who require additional guidance and intervention. You will work closely with Learning Managers, academy staff, parents, carers and external agencies to identify student needs and develop effective pathways that support positive outcomes. The successful candidate will coordinate alternative curriculum opportunities, deliver appropriate programmes of study and support students in achieving relevant qualifications. You will build strong mentoring relationships with young people, helping to improve their behaviour, self-esteem, attendance, achievement and aspirations. You will provide personalised support to students with a range of vulnerabilities, helping them overcome barriers to learning and prepare for further education, apprenticeships or employment. The role will involve liaising with specialist services and community organisations, contributing to student assessments, developing individual action plans and implementing targeted interventions. You will have the ability to communicate effectively with students, families and professionals, while maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding the wellbeing of all students. This position would suit an experienced Learning Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, Inclusion Worker, Youth Worker or someone with experience supporting young people with additional needs or vulnerabilities within an educational setting. The successful candidate will be organised, empathetic and passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of young people.

Person Specification

To be considered for this role, candidates must have / be able to demonstrate:

• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Experience of working within a school or educational environment.
• Experience supporting young people with specific difficulties, vulnerabilities or barriers to learning.
• Knowledge and understanding of the challenges affecting young people and the ability to provide appropriate support.
• Experience developing positive mentoring and supportive relationships with children and young people.
• The ability to support students with their learning and develop programmes that improve confidence, self-esteem and engagement.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff and external agencies.
• The ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
• Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• The ability to use standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office and relevant school systems.
• A genuine interest in supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to success.
• A willingness and ability to undertake further training and professional development.
• An understanding of safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries within a school setting.
• A full enhanced DBS certificate.
• Completion of the Connex Education onboarding process.
