Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Control Systems Engineer with hands-on PLC programming experience to design, develop, and commission complete automation projects. This role goes beyond troubleshooting and requires independent building of logic, hardware configuration, and deployment support.

The ideal candidate will work with Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider platforms, develop ladder logic and structured text, read schematics, and contribute to FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup activities across

Qualifications

• PLC programming from scratch including logic development, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or Schneider PLC platforms.
• Strong proficiency with Ladder Logic and Structured Text.
• Experience designing and commissioning complete control systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, control drawings, and panel layouts.
• Experience with field startup, FAT/SAT, and testing at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement PLC-based control systems.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, and related automation hardware.
• Create and review control system documentation, schematics, and specs.
• Support system integration, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Develop FAT/SAT test plans and document results.
• Troubleshoot and support existing automation systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to deliver automation solutions.
