The Glasgow Academy in Glasgow is seeking qualified Playworkers to join our After School Care team, delivering a safe, engaging, play-based programme for children aged 5–12.

Hours are 3.5 per day, Monday to Friday, 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, term time. Applicants should hold an HNC or SVQ level 3 or equivalent Play work qualification and be flexible, enthusiastic, and collaborative. Enhanced Disclosure Scotland checks are required.

Qualifications

• HNC or SVQ 3 or equivalent Play work qualification is preferred.
• Experience with young children and ability to reflect on practice.
• Commitment to creating stimulating, safe after-school environments.

Responsabilités

• Provide a safe, engaging after-school care programme for children.
• Support children's play, learning and well-being in a supervised setting.
• Be part of a team, and also work on your own initiative when needed.
• Maintain records and communicate with school staff and carers.

The Post

You will be working as part of an established team and ideally hold an HNC or SVQ level 3 or equivalent Play work qualification. You should be a flexible, enthusiastic and imaginative professional with a sound knowledge of Social Care Standards, Getting it Right for Every Child and Play work Principles.

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check and will also be required to make health declaration to work with young children, as well as supplying two supporting references.

Remuneration

Salary will be paid, pro-rata, in line with national living wage.
