Job summary

St Mary’s the Mount Catholic Primary School is seeking a Play Leader to run the Breakfast and After School Club for children aged 3 to 11. The role is 20 hours per week over 38 weeks each year, with shifts 7:20am-8:50am and 3:05pm-5:35pm.

This post is term-time only and appointment is subject to satisfactory references, verification of qualifications, eligibility to work in the UK, and an enhanced DBS certificate. School visits are welcome to meet the team and see the welcoming setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing and happy environment for children before and after school.
• Support children aged 3–11 during Breakfast and After School Club sessions.
• Ensure safe, well-ordered activities and play in line with school policies.
• Complete required pre-employment checks including references, qualification verification, eligibility to work in the UK and enhanced DBS.

Play Leader for Breakfast and After School Club

Location: St Mary’s the Mount Catholic Primary School

20 hours on a 38 week contract (No training days to attend)

Level 1 Scale Point 3 £11,232.73

St Mary’s the Mount School is seeking to recruit a Play leader to work in the Breakfast and After School Club, starting from Monday 9th November 2026.

Children will be aged from 3 years to 11 years.

This post is for 20 hours per week, term time only.

Hours are as follows: Monday- Friday 7.20am-8.50am and 3.05pm- 5.35pm

Appointment to the post is subject to relevant pre-employment checks- 3 satisfactory references, verification of qualifications and eligibility to work in the UK, online checks as set out in Keeping Children Safe in education, including an enhanced DBS certificate with a barred-list check.
