Cardiff Met Sport is seeking a Player Development Centre Coach to support Wales’ high-potential female rugby players within the WRU PDC network. You will deliver progressive coaching, and mentor players to compete at elite club and world-level stages in East Wales.
You will lead on-field delivery, align with the Welsh DNA, and build collaborative links with the WRU, clubs, universities, schools and colleges to ensure robust playing programmes for PDC players.
Cardiff Met Sport is at the heart of sport, physical activity, health & wellbeing in Wales’ Capital City. Our mission is clear - ‘to profoundly enhance the lives of our communities, making them healthier and stronger as an outcome of engaging with us’.
To continue to achieve all of this, we need people who bring fresh ideas, creativity and commitment to making a difference, who want to make a positive and lasting impact on people’s lives, in Wales and beyond.
We’re now seeking a Player Development Centre Coach. As one of three centres in the WRU Player Development Centre (PDC) network, our purpose is to deliver a localised, high-quality training and coaching programme for Wales’ most high potential, pre-elite female players.
As the PDC Coach your role is to support the delivery of an inspiring and transformational development environment for Wales’ next generation of national and international female rugby players in East Wales. Supporting each of these identified players to be able compete at the elite level club (Celtic Challenge), and full-time rugby on the world stage with Wales.
With exceptional technical knowledge of rugby coaching, you’ll bring experience of developing people within a high-performance sports setting and contribute to the delivery and development of national performance centre. You’ll be confident leading, supporting and empowering others, building effective relationships, and applying your technical knowledge of rugby to support identified players to be able compete at the elite level club.
We are a values-based University. We are proud of our culture, and our people. Our community spirit is the golden thread that underpins our values and behaviours. We support and embrace inclusion that enables everyone to feel respected and able to perform at their best. By joining our university, you'll find yourself in a unique environment where a wealth of knowledge and resources are readily available, supporting you with your career development.
