The Vacancy:

Purpose of the Role

Electroplating and Metal Finishing of components to Amphenol quality standards and timeframes set out in the Company Policies, Procedures and Instructions.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Reading and following all relevant documentation and carrying out various Plating and finishing processes to Company standards.
  • Strict adherence to company Process, Manufacturing and Health and Safety Instructions and Procedures.
  • Strict adherence to company Quality Procedures, including product Quality and System Quality.
  • Following the Production Plan.
  • Keeping accurate Quality records.
  • Identifying and carrying out the correct method of jigging for a range of parts and/or wiring / barrelling method.
  • Following correct procedures for safe handling of chemicals within the Plating department.
  • Using x-ray spectrometer and other quality monitoring equipment to measure plating thickness and carrying out visual inspection to Company quality standards.
  • Understanding and adhering to the department and Company Health and Safety rules and procedures.
  • Competently carrying out the roles of an Electroplater and Metal finisher.
  • Carry out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSE, or equivalent, in English and Maths Grade C or above.

Experience

  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Worked in or are currently working in a team.

Technical Knowledge

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, manufacturing instructions, process instructions and specifications.

Skills and Competencies

  • Hardworking with the ability to stay focused at all times.
  • Very high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks over long periods of time.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Willing to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality.

Experience

  • Any relevant electroplating experience or knowledge.
