Job summary

Imperial Enterprise in the United Kingdom is seeking a Platform Team Lead (Server Infrastructure) to manage and modernise our server infrastructure platforms and services. You will lead automation, observability, and platform reliability efforts within the Hybrid Cloud team to deliver secure, scalable services for research, teaching, and professional services.

You will oversee operating compute, storage, backup, and datacentre environments, driving continuous improvement and incident response

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing enterprise server infrastructure in a complex environment.
• Experience in Leading Technical Teams.
• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
• Desirable experience includes: Public cloud infrastructure experience (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to infrastructure operations.
• Experience working within ITIL-aligned service management environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage physical and virtual server infrastructure across colo and campus datacentres.
• Manage enterprise storage platforms, ensuring performance, resilience, scalability, and effective lifecycle management.
• Manage backup and recovery platforms, including testing, monitoring, retention, and disaster recovery processes.
• Monitor platform health, capacity, and performance, proactively identifying opportunities for optimisation and service improvement.
• Manage the support incident response, root cause analysis, and problem management activities for critical infrastructure services.
• Work closely with security, networking, cloud, and application teams to ensure infrastructure services meet operational and compliance requirements.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
