Job summary

dunnhumby is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Application Platform team. The successful candidate will build and maintain tools enabling teams to efficiently deploy software.

Key responsibilities include developing platform primitives, onboarding teams to new systems, and improving deployment processes. Candidates should have strong Kubernetes and GitLab CI experience and a background in production software development.

Qualifications

• Experience shipping code or infrastructure to production.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes on GKE, AKS, or EKS.
• Proven Git practices within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain platform primitives for service team deployments.
• Contribute to platform design discussions and shape deployment standards.
• Respond to platform alerts and triage issues during working hours.

Skills

Strong professional software engineering experience

Hands-on Kubernetes experience

Helm experience

Experience with GitLab CI

Production experience with Python or Go

Confidence working with Linux and Docker

Strong Git practices
