Job summary

heata is hiring a Platform Engineer to build and scale our distributed compute platform across a hybrid cloud estate. You’ll own Kubernetes clusters, deploy VM workloads via KubeVirt, and drive automation across CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with a small team to harden infrastructure, apply IaC with Terraform/Ansible/Helm, and ensure secure, scalable operations across GCP, AWS and Azure, while contributing to observability and performance tuning.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Experience with virtualisation (libvirt/qemu/kvm).
• Proficiency with IaC and configuration tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Experience deploying across multi-cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Strong Linux systems engineering and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, including KubeVirt virtual machine workloads.
• Develop and maintain automated pipelines for build, deployment and testing.
• Improve repeatability and security for automated deployments.
• Collaborate with a small team to shape the platform's future.
• Contribute to observability, monitoring and performance tuning.
