Job summary

Barclays in Glasgow is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and evolve the platforms that power our engineering community. You will work on critical infrastructure, developer tooling, and platform services to enable teams to move faster and deploy safely at scale.

You will contribute to deployment tooling extensions, automation, and secure coding practices, while aligning with governance and business objectives across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Advanced software engineering skills with proficiency in Java, Golang or similar modern language.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and public cloud technologies for cloud-native solutions.
• Experience building engineering platforms, tooling and automation to improve software delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality software with scalable, maintainable design and performance.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to define requirements and align with business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to secure coding practices and implement unit tests for reliability.
• Lead and collaborate on deployment tooling, CI/CD pipelines and platform integrations.
