Platform Engineer: AWS, IaC & Security (Hybrid)

Job summary

Immersum is seeking a Platform Engineer to power a high-growth sports data platform from its London HQ. This hybrid role involves part in-office and part remote work, with a multi-region AWS environment and a strong emphasis on reliability, security and automation.

You will build scalable AWS infrastructure with Terraform/OpenTofu, improve networking, IAM, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring, and collaborate with engineers to remove blockers and streamline deployments.

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS production experience across multi-region environments.
• Strong networking fundamentals including VPCs, routing, DNS and security groups.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform/OpenTofu and cloud infrastructure automation.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows.
• Scripting skills in Python or similar to automate tasks.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or CloudWatch.
• Security-minded, understanding of DevSecOps practices.
• Proactive, ownership-driven approach to solving complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve large-scale AWS infrastructure using Terraform/OpenTofu.
• Design and improve cloud networking, compute, IAM and data services.
• Strengthen cloud security, secrets management and access controls.
• Drive improvements across zero-trust networking and identity management.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
• Support production Kubernetes/EKS and containerised workloads.
• Improve monitoring, observability and platform reliability.
• Modernise legacy infrastructure and bring it under Infrastructure as Code.
• Work closely with software engineers to improve deployment workflows and remove technical blockers.
• Help optimise the performance, resilience and security of a globally distributed platform.
