Job summary

Our client is seeking an experienced GCP Platform Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis in the United Kingdom. You will design, build, and maintain cloud-based platforms and pipelines using Google Cloud Platform, with hands-on experience across Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Functions and GKE.

The role requires strong CI/CD automation skills (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build or similar) and the ability to obtain SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and maintaining cloud platforms on Google Cloud.
• Hands-on with GCP services: Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Functions, GKE.
• Strong CI/CD pipeline design and automation experience.
• Ability to obtain SC clearance.

Our client, a global organisation, urgently require an experienced GCP Platform Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis

In order to be successful, you will have the following experience:

• Experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud-based platforms and infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform)
• Hands-on experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, Cloud Functions, and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)
• Strong background in CI/CD pipeline design and automation using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Cloud Build, or similar
• Must be able to obtain SC Clearance with no restrictions (ideally already hold SC)

Within this role, you will be responsible for:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality platforms and pipelines
• Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and maintenance
• Engage and provide technical insight during system design
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions
• Write well-documented code and contribute to technical documentation
• Proactively troubleshoot issues, maintain the smooth operation of live services, and play a key role in resolving complex production issues
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and best practices, assessing their impact and identifying opportunities for adoption
• Effectively communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Actively contribute to the engineering community
