Job summary

Erin Associates Ltd is seeking an experienced DevOps Platform Engineer to design, build and operate a modern internal platform in Leicester. The role focuses on making development teams faster, secure and reliable across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will work across Kubernetes, GitOps, IaC, CI/CD and observability, creating self‑service tools and automation to streamline developer workflows and tooling usage.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Linux in production environments.
• Experience with AWS or another major cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Helm and Argo CD.
• CI/CD implementation using GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar.
• Monitoring/observability using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Networking, security, secrets management and disaster recovery.
• Scripting or programming with Go, Python or Bash.
• Experience in on‑premises or bare‑metal environments.
• Exposure to OpenShift, K3s, Docker Swarm, Cilium/eBPF, Backstage or AI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

DevOps Platform Engineer – Leicester, East Midlands, Leicestershire

We’re looking for an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer to build and maintain the internal platform that enables development teams to deliver software quickly, securely and reliably across cloud and on-premises environments.

THe Platform Engineer will work across Kubernetes, GitOps, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability and security, while helping create self-service tools and automation that make developers’ lives easier.

Key Skills For This Platform Engineer

• Strong production experience with Kubernetes, Docker and Linux
• AWS or another major cloud platform
• Terraform, Ansible, Helm and Argo CD
• CI/CD using GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar
• Monitoring and observability, ideally OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana
• Networking, security, secrets management and disaster recovery
• Scripting/programming with Go, Python or Bash
• Experience with on-premises/bare-metal environments
• Experience with OpenShift, K3s, Docker Swarm, Cilium/eBPF, Backstage or AI-assisted engineering tools would be advantageous.
