Job summary

Eurobase People in London is seeking a Platform Engineer for a hybrid role based at Fenchurch Street. The role focuses on designing, building, and operating cloud platforms with AWS as the primary provider.

You will implement Infrastructure as Code with Terraform at scale, develop reusable modules, and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitLab. Docker containers, serverless workloads (AWS Lambda), and scripting in Python or Bash are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and operating cloud platforms on AWS.
• Hands-on Terraform implementation at scale.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD with GitLab.
• Experience with containerised workloads and orchestration.
• Proficient scripting in Python or Bash.
• Ability to produce high quality technical designs and docs.
• Experience in agile delivery and engineering standards.
• SC Clearance holder and active clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate cloud platforms on AWS.

My client is a global IT consultancy, who are recruiting for a Platform Engineer

Position Description

Base Location: London - Fenchurch Street 2-3 days per week

Start - ASAP

End - 31/03/26

Pay - £650pd Inside IR35 via umbrella

This role requires SC Clearance, please do not apply if you do not hold active SC

• Strong experience designing, building and operating cloud platforms and solutions, with AWS as your primary cloud provider.
• Hands on Terraform experience implementing Infrastructure as Code at scale and developing reusable modules
• A strong understanding of AWS services and cloud native architecture patterns.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and GitLab CI/CD.
• Strong experience working with Docker and containerised workloads.
• Experience developing or supporting serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and other AWS managed services.
• Strong Scripting and automation skills using languages such as Python or Bash.
• Experience producing high quality technical designs and documentation.
• Experience of working in agile delivery teams, mentoring engineers and helping establish engineering standards.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions across multidisciplinary teams.
• A passion for continuous improvement, learning new technologies and modern platform engineering practices.

Nice to haves

• Experience with AWS container services such as ECS or EKS is desirable; Kubernetes experience is welcomed but not essential.
• Designing or operating multi account AWS environments.
• DevSecOps practices and integrating security throughout the software delivery life cycle.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud providers is desirable in lieu of AWS experience.
• Experience working within secure or highly regulat ed environments.
