Job summary

SCC is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support the build, automation, and optimisation of modern cloud and infrastructure platforms within a large enterprise environment. You will drive platform reliability, scalability, and automation across transformation programmes.

Role requires hands-on IaC with Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation, cloud skills (Azure/AWS/GCP), and strong CI/CD experience. This is a contract opportunity with a focus on security, governance, and collaboration across

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale platform solutions.
• Strong cloud experience across Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
• Hands-on IaC using Terraform, Bicep, Ansible or CloudFormation.
• Solid knowledge of containers and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to support the build, automation, and optimisation of modern cloud and infrastructure platforms within a large enterprise environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Platform Engineer to drive platform reliability, scalability, and automation while working across high-profile transformation programmes.

Your responsibilities as the Platform Engineer:

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available platform solutions.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support application and infrastructure deployments.
• Automate operational processes to improve efficiency, reliability, and consistency.
• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to implement platform best practices.
• Monitor platform performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimisation.
• Support cloud migration and modernisation initiatives across enterprise environments.
• Ensure platform solutions align with security, governance, and compliance requirements.

As a successful Platform Engineer, you will have:

• Proven experience working as a Platform Engineer within enterprise-scale environments.
• Strong experience with cloud technologies including Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Strong knowledge of containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience designing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies or DevOps practices would be advantageous.
