Job summary

Searchability NS&D in the United Kingdom is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to design and build secure, scalable cloud platforms for major public sector programmes.

You will lead agile teams, implement Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers while ensuring security and reliability. This role offers a hybrid work model with office and client travel, with clear career progression and access to industry certifications.

Qualifications

THE LEAD PLATFORM ENGINEER ROLE

As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will work within agile engineering teams designing and building secure, scalable cloud platforms for major UK public sector organisations.

You will help deliver enterprise scale infrastructure platforms that enable development teams to build and deploy secure digital services.

• Building Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Supporting container platforms using Kubernetes and Docker
• Developing CI/CD pipelines to automate delivery and deployment

LEAD PLATFORM ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform
• Container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Strong Linux engineering and scripting experience
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab or similar tools
• Experience supporting large scale production cloud platforms
• Ability to provide technical leadership within engineering teams
• Candidates must be SC cleared or eligible to obtain SC clearance.
