Job summary

ExTrac AI is seeking a Software Engineer to join its London-based engineering team. You will build and operate backend microservices, APIs, and data pipelines that power decision-support products used by governments, defence organisations, financial institutions, and corporations.

You will work across Go and Python codebases, collaborating with AI, frontend, analysts, and product teams to ship reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience with production-grade services.
• Proficiency in building microservices using Go or Python.
• Experience with distributed systems and APIs in a larger product.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest in deployment pipelines, databases and security engineering.
• Experience in defence/government or compliance-constrained environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and own features, components, and APIs end to end within a single system, focusing on Go and Python services.
• Develop microservices for data collection, processing and querying, with guidance from senior engineers.
• Ensure production readiness with latency, cost, and reliability considerations; instrument services for observability.
