Job summary

Salt Search is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build and scale the core services powering our AI platform. Design scalable backend services using Go and Python, and own features end to end while collaborating with ML, frontend and infrastructure engineers.

Expect to work on APIs, databases and large-scale data pipelines, with cloud experience (AWS) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Office-based in London with WFH flexibility and opportunities to impact AI-driven systems.

Qualifications

• 4-5+ years backend experience with Go or Python
• Experience building scalable APIs, databases and distributed systems
• Cloud experience, AWS preferred; Kubernetes, Pulumi or Grafana advantageous
• Experience developing production systems at scale
• Startup/scale-up or high-growth tech background preferred
• Strong ownership, problem-solving and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Go and Python

• Develop reliable distributed systems handling significant traffic and data volumes
• Improve performance, scalability, observability and infrastructure efficiency
