Job summary

MAK-SYSTEM is seeking a Platform Architect to define and evolve our cloud platforms and managed services. You will translate business and regulatory requirements into practical designs and lead the technical design of platform capabilities, integrations, and migrations.

The role combines architecture with hands‑on engineering, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with Platform Engineering, Security, and Product teams. AWS, Kubernetes, IaC, and CI/CD expertise are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing, building, and operating cloud platforms, preferably AWS in regulated environments.
• Hands-on platform, cloud, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering with delivery focus.
• Experience defining solution architectures, roadmaps, migrations, or platform changes.
• Strong IaC, container, CI/CD, and automation experience using Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Significant experience with Kubernetes and Docker (ideally EKS).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, Linux/Unix, distributed systems, microservices, IAM, security, monitoring, resilience, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and their availability, performance, and backup requirements.
• Ability to balance long-term architecture with practical delivery and produce clear diagrams and standards.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the architecture of MAK-SYSTEM’s cloud platforms and managed services; translate requirements into technical designs.
• Lead the technical design of platform capabilities, integrations, migrations, and significant platform changes.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, solution designs, standards, roadmaps, and implementation guidance.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering, Software Engineering, Security, Quality, Product, and Project teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Participate in hands-on engineering delivery, ownership of engineer work when required.
• Review proposals, identify risks, and guide engineers on complex design decisions.
• Engage with customers to understand requirements, explain solutions, and address technical concerns.
• Support non-functional aspects: performance, capacity, security hardening, observability, resilience, backup, and DR.
