Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an experienced Plater to join the Net Zero Teesside Power project on Teesside. You will fabricate and assemble platework and mechanical components to precise standards, reading drawings and preparing components for welding.

You'll work on site with other trades, ensuring safety, quality and right-first-time delivery on a major energy infrastructure programme. Experience in power, petrochemical or oil & gas environments is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Plater within a major construction, fabrication or industrial environment.
• Strong fabrication and platework skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience marking out, preparing, fitting and assembling fabricated components.
• A strong understanding of safe working practices.
• A commitment to quality and right-first-time delivery.
• The ability to work effectively alongside Welders and other mechanical trades.
• A professional approach and pride in your workmanship.
• Experience gained within power, energy, petrochemical, oil & gas, process engineering or other major industrial environments would be particularly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication and assembly of platework and mechanical components on site.
• Marking out, cutting, shaping and forming materials.
• Working from engineering drawings and fabrication details.
• Fitting and assembling fabricated components.
• Preparing and setting components for welding.
• Collaborating with Welders, Mechanical Fitters and Riggers on site.
