Job summary

Advanced Engineering in Oldham is seeking a Plater / Fabricator to join our busy manufacturing team. The role involves marking out, cutting, shaping and assembling plate and fabricated components, using appropriate tools and machinery, and ensuring work meets drawings and standards.

You will prepare, align and tack components for welding, check quality, and work safely with overhead cranes and handling equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Plater/Fabricator in fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong fabrication, measuring, marking out and assembly skills.

Responsibilities

• Mark out, cut, shape, form and assemble plate, section and fabricated components.

Plater / Fabricator

Oldham

£20 per hour

Monday to Friday (37.5 hour week)

Are you a Fabricator with experience of manufacturing components with steel? A busy manufacturing business in Oldham is currently recruiting for experienced Fabricators to join their team.

The Role:

• Mark out, cut, shape, form and assemble plate, section and fabricated components
• Use appropriate fabrication tools, machinery and equipment safely and correctly
• Prepare, align and tack components ready for welding, ensuring they meet required standards
• Check work for accuracy, quality and compliance with drawings and specifications
• Work safely with overhead cranes, lifting equipment and mechanical handling equipment where trained and authorised
• Report defects, drawing issues, material concerns or production problems to the line manager

Suitable Candidate:

• Experience of working as a Plater / Fabricator within a fabrication or heavy manufacturing background
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong fabrication, measuring, marking out and assembly skills
• Health and Safety awareness around lifting material and handling the fabrication equipment
• Reliable and proactive person able to work as part of a team
