Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a Plastering Lecturer in Wigan to teach plastering to Levels 1–3. The role combines practical instruction with theory, assessment and pastoral support to help learners develop practical skills and professional standards.

The successful candidate will have extensive plastering experience, a relevant plastering or related qualification, and a willingness to work towards a teaching qualification with full support.

Qualifications

• Experienced Plasterer with strong practical industry knowledge.
• Relevant Plastering qualification or vocational qualification in a related area.
• Strong understanding of current Plastering techniques, materials, tools and industry standards.
• Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one with full support.
• Confident using IT and e-learning technology.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Student-focused with a genuine interest in supporting learners to achieve their potential.
• Adaptable and able to work collaboratively with colleagues across different sites.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based Plastering lessons across Levels 1 to 3.
• Teach students the technical skills, techniques and professional standards required within the construction industry.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and support learners to continually improve.
• Use assessment results to adapt teaching and support individual student progress.
• Monitor attendance, promote positive behaviour and create an engaging learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments and other administrative requirements.
• Support student induction, achievement and progression into employment or further education.
• Participate in Open Evenings, school liaison and other activities to promote the Construction department.
• Contribute to course coordination and wider departmental initiatives.
• Keep up to date with developments within Plastering and best practice in teaching and assessment.
• Use IT, e-learning and Information and Learning Technology to enhance the student experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established college within its Construction department, where you will teach Plastering students across Levels 1 to 3.
