Job summary

Sovereign Network Group in Newbury/Reading seeks an experienced Plasterer Multi to join the Property Team. You'll carry out plastering repairs across our housing properties, applying acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials to high standards.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 or 5+ years plastering experience, a full driving licence, and a focus on health and safety. A company van and fuel card are provided to cover travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plastering repairs in our properties as part of the Responsive Repairs Team.
• Apply and finish acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster.
• Prepare corner beads, fix cornices and coving, and install plaster fittings.
• Measure, cut and fix plasterboard; install insulation and vapour barriers.
• Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement and render to achieve uniform thickness.

We're currently recruiting for an experienced/qualified Plasterer Multi to join our Property Team in our Newbury & Reading locality. As you'll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business use van and fuel card so you'll not be out of pocket.

What you'll do:

As a Plasterer you will carry out all forms of plastering repairs in our properties as part of our Responsive Repairs Team and elsewhere depending on demands. Applying and finishing acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials. Preparing corner beads, and securing them in position. Fixing pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, coving, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings and determining plasterboard layout, and installing insulation and vapour barriers. Plumbing and straightening corners, angles, wall and ceiling surfaces as well as creating decorative textures in finishing coats. Measuring, marking and cutting plasterboard, lifting and positioning panels, and securing them to walls, ceilings and battens. Covering joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper. Mixing and applying coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and levelling and smoothing coats to uniform thickness.

What you'll need:

• You should have experience within a similar role, ideally from within a Residential/Housing sector and must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 OR have a minimum of 5 years proven track record working as a plasterer.
• Have a strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.
• Enjoy working as part of a team This is a full time role, working 40 Hours per week. Due to the requirement to travel, you must hold a full and current driving licence with a minimum of 1 years experience and have the ability to drive and take home a company van.
• This role is subject to a satisfactory licence check and essential qualifications.
