Job summary

Derby Homes is seeking a skilled plasterer to undertake repairs, maintenance and renovations across our housing stock, schools and public buildings. You will work to high standards, applying plaster, tiling and flooring tasks as required, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Working within a multi-skilling team, you will follow health and safety rules, maintain records, submit worksheets on time, and liaise with management and customers to ensure smooth on-site delivery.

Qualifications

  • Skilled plasterer capable of plaster repairs and new plaster works.
  • Experience with tiling and flooring in kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Ability to follow health and safety requirements on site.
  • Ability to submit worksheets and maintain records on time.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake plastering repairs, maintenance and renovations identified within the housing stock, schools and public buildings.
  • Carry out new plaster works on internal and external surfaces.
  • Remove and apply ceramic tiles to kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Lay and/or repair kitchen and bathroom flooring.
  • Maintain on-site records and time/materials data.
  • Work within an appointment system and liaise with customers.

To undertake plastering repairs, maintenance, and renovations; other skilled maintenance operations and to support other trade staff in the effective completion of repairs, maintenance and other building operations to property and buildings managed by Derby Homes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

FOR WHICH EMPLOYEES:

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To undertake all plastering repairs, maintenance and renovations identified within the housing stock, schools and public buildings.
  • To carry out new plaster works to both internal and external surfaces.
  • To remove and apply ceramic tiles to kitchens and bathroom.
  • To lay and / or repair kitchen and bathroom flooring.
  • By using your own initiative, resolve were practical any minor or routine technical difficulties on site, liaising with your management as required.
  • To maintain vehicle stock levels at optimum level so that service efficiency is achieved.
  • Work within an appointment system including liaising with customers
  • To submit all worksheets and documents relating to job (electronically or by paper) within the required timescales.
  • To effectively contribute to the provision of accurate records for time, SOR and materials to each work order, including the effective receipting of all material advice notes.

BAND B OR C

To carry out tasks within the Derby Homes multi-skilling agreement.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBIITIES

  • To ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided is maintained at an adequate level in service able condition and always used when and where appropriate.
  • To ensure that all works are completed within the current performance and service standards of Derby Homes.
  • To ensure a customer focussed approach is adopted in all aspects of the service.
  • To attend toolbox talks/ staff briefings as and when required with internal and external bodies.
  • To participate in the induction training and mentoring of new employees and apprentices / trainees allocated to the section.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and follow safe working practices using a range of tools associated with your job roles.
  • Report all accidents and or hazardous occurrences
  • To deal with sensitive information with regard to confidentiality, Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
  • Comply with all Derby Homes Environmental Policies.
  • Participate in Derby Homes Job Chat Scheme.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the Equalities Policies of Derby Homes.
  • Comply with all existing and any new Personnel Policies and Practices implemented by Derby Homes.
  • Work with new technology including any computerised systems operated by Derby Homes.
  • Undertake any additional duties commensurate with the grading and level of the post.
