Job description

Looking for a role that offers stability while making a real difference in people’s lives?

At Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP), our vision is to create places to be proud of, and our mission is simple: the basics done well. If you’re passionate about delivering quality work that truly impacts lives, we’d love to hear from you.

You'll be joining our dedicated in-house repairs team, responsible for carrying out repairs in our customers' homes. We're seeking a skilled tradesperson with strong plastering expertise and proven experience working in domestic properties.

If you want to do an ‘honest day’s graft’, and be of a supportive team that values hard work and integrity—this could be the perfect opportunity for you

What’s in It for You?

We’re a local housing association rooted in the Grimsby and Boston communities. Many of our colleagues live in the same areas we serve, giving us a shared purpose to improve lives.

At LHP, we invest in our people. You’ll have access to:

  • Career progression routes to Team Leader or Manager roles
  • Training opportunities (e.g., PASMA, Cat & Genny, Abrasive Wheels)
  • Westfield Health package worth £1,200 annually
  • Up to 12% employer pension contribution
  • 24 days holiday + bank holidays, with extra days for full attendance
  • Mental Health First Aiders across the business
  • Company vehicle, uniform, and tools
What will a typical week look like?

Working at LHP offers variety, challenge and the chance to make a real difference - but it’s not always easy, you’ll have a great team around you as support and to celebrate your team success.

As a Plasterer, you will be responsible for undertaking plastering and associated repairs, to our customers’ homes as part of our in-house repairs and empty homes service. Your role will ensure repairs are delivered to our customers in line with our vision and values.

  • You will ensure all repairs, and required inspections are delivered right first time, safely, are in line with our repairs policy and within our budget parameters.
  • You will work to our service targets both in terms of service productivity, policy and customer satisfaction.
  • The role is defined as being mobile under our agile working policy, therefore you will work from wherever it is required, in our customers homes or on our estates or schemes. You will be expected to drive for work and use technology to communicate with your manager.
  • Undertaking inspection, repairs and maintenance works as required to our customers homes (whether occupied or void) and to our schemes, estates, and other property assets as required as part of the in-house repairs service, safely in accordance with the policies and procedures of LHP and the operational and commercial targets set whilst putting the customer first.
  • You will ensure that you, our customers, and the public are safe and that the work you undertake is safe by ensuring you are suitably trained and that you comply with all mandatory training, that you comply with LHP’s safe systems of work and risk assessments, and that you carry out dynamic risk assessments as the situation requires.
  • Ensuring that the work you carry out is to the highest quality standards using the most appropriate tools, equipment, and materials such that remedial works are never required and that a repair does not reoccur.
  • Complying with the repairs appointments that have been made for you and minimising any follow-on works by completing the whole repair right, first time, at the first appointment as well as any other repair that you have the skills, time, and materials to complete. If a follow-on repair is required, you will ensure that unless not possible, the customer is given an appointment for the follow on works before you leave the property and that this is confirmed in your diary or another engineers or contractor’s diary as appropriate.
  • Operating at the highest standard of customer service, ensuring that over-shoes, dust sheets, and other protections are always used and that curtsey and respect is shown to our customers and their homes and belongings, their visitors, or members of the public at all times.
What Skills and Experience will you I need?
  • Strong experience in Plasteringis essential
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the repairs of domestic properties
  • An awareness of health and safety considerations within a domestic property (i.e. Asbestos, working around customers, working at heights & electrics)
  • The ability to use PDA/iPad and other electronic communication devices
  • The ability to interpret a job description from a handheld device and carry out those tasks in a timely manner
  • The ability to communicate on regular basis with team leaders and planners to ensure work is carried out and completed to the highest possible standard
  • Must have a full valid, clean driving license

As part of the interview process, you’ll be invited to a first-stage informal chat. This will take place at our Boston Office. This is a chance for us to get to know you better—your motivations, values, and how you work within a team. It’s also a great opportunity for you to learn more about us and the role.

The second stage will include a practical skills assessment. This is your chance to showcase your trade expertise and demonstrate how your skills align with what we’re looking for in the role.
