The Orthopedic and Trauma Clinic in the Outpatient Department at North Manchester General Hospital, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, is currently recruiting a Band 5 Plaster Technician to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to care for patients requiring various orthopedic treatments.
We seek a compassionate and caring Plaster Technician with the ability to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate should be able to motivate, inspire, and support colleagues while providing excellent patient care. A calm, diplomatic, and caring approach, along with a commitment to high standards of safe and effective care, is essential.
The post holder will support the orthopaedic technical services at North Manchester General Hospital, with cross-site work at Trafford General Hospital. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients requiring casting and splint application. The role requires a wide range of skills and knowledge in this area, with the ability to work autonomously and provide leadership within the plaster room. The post holder will offer expert support and guidance to other professionals and departments, ensuring the plaster room remains a safe and welcoming environment for both adults and young people, while maintaining health and safety standards. Flexibility in approach is expected.
